Am I Dreaming??

Have a look at the pictures below and answer me this one question.
WHO WANTS A SHOT ON MY BOAT??

Yes for one race only team hotrunning are brining to you the opportunity to board one of these offshore powerboats curtesy of Mr Iain McLean pilot of an RB1 Class Offshore Powerboat which is taking part in this years Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race 2008. Very much toughest Powerboat race in the world, meets Toughest Footrace in the world!!

In an unbelievable act of generosity Iain has donated team hotrunning 2 seats aboard his powerboat for 1 stage of the round Britain race. These are so exclusive that money simply cannot buy this prize. Until now!!

Team Hotrunning will be offering the seats to the highest bidder by way of an eBAY auction to be run in the next few weeks - Watch this space for the specific details.

There are a few terms and conditions including the compulsory attendance at a training weekend in Southampton in May, before being allowed to board the boat for the race in June.

To find out more about the race visit www.roundbritainrace.co.uk

And if you want to find out more right now send us an e-mail at the usual address team@hotrunning.net

Even if you don't fancy it please spread the word to those adrenaline junkies out there, we would like as much publicity regarding this as possible.

Thanks again.

The journey continues, where next???

Hectic! To say the least.

Firstly apologies. Almost 2 months since my last blog, ridiculous, why? I hear you ask.

Christmas and New year was the usual blow out too much food and drink and not enough diet and exercise!! Work stayed busy throughout this time giving me little opportunity for a concentrated exercise regime.

By far and away the most dominating factor over the last couple of months has been the organisation of the Charity Ceilidh. Along with the rest of Team Hotrunning and supported well by Team Hot, (Laura, Claire and Laura) every day has seen more and more jobs to do for the big day. See auctions and bloody raffles!! However, the big day wasn't long in coming round and what a night it was.

We had 264 guests, family friends and corporate sponsors. We had Dr Tom Dymock local celebrity GP from the Hilltoon as our MC. We also had BBC Political Correspondent Brian Taylor as our guest speaker. Both did us proud with fantastic performances which kept the evening moving well.

Our charity auction was chaired by Bernard Williams of Christies Scotland who injected humour and professionalism to the event.

The night seemed to fly by and we were all amazed when at the end of the night the grand total of £14000 was announced.

A fantastic result from the hard work we had put in. A big thank you to the rest of the team as well as our sponsors and donees, and family members.

If this wasn't enough I had a fitness test two weeks ago. Something is going right for once! All my body measurements were lower than before including 2 inches from my stomach!! Well happy : ) The scales have dropped slightly but the indications are I'm shedding the fat and improving my muscle mass in the right areas.

I didn't much enjoy the lactate and VO2 Max tests, I never do they are HORRIBLE, made even worse by the fact that after 3 minutes of running the fire alarm in the University was activated and I had to stand outside in shorts and vest top for 5 minutes in the freezing cold!! The Lactate thresholds were showing big improvments so all in all I'm delighted.

Training has definitely been second place to the arrangements of the Ceilidh but now I must re focus as we have a hectic calendar of events coming up, starting with the "Mighty Deer Stalker" followed by the Cateran Trail Race, Highland Mountain Marathon and Maggie's Monster Bike and Hike.

No Rest for the wicked!!
