A Little Bit Of Everything

I wasn't sure how to sum up the last month or so, so a little bit of everything sounds about right.

Firstly, the aftermath of the Marathon, after the run then my holiday it was great to start pushing myself in the gym and in the swimming pool. It's great to not be pounding the pavements day in day out. The training diary shows the types of things I've been doing, if your really keen I'm looking for somebody to take me on in the 10K challenge, even Seamus and James won't do it!!

It's simple really, all done in the gym it's a 10K Row followed by a 10K Cycle followed by a 10K Run easy really : ) All done in about 1 hour 50 mins. Let me know if you fancy it!!

A few weeks later the second fitness test was upon me, I wasn't really looking forward to it, particularly as I knew to what level of exhaustion it takes you. I was encouraged by the fact that I was going to meet a new member of team hotrunning, Kirsten the fourth year sports student at Dundee Uni who is basing her thesis on our fitness progressions. I haven't seen the results of the test as yet but if I'm honest I don't feel I did as well as the original test, it's a bit strange I feel fitter but I don't feel like I had improved very much. I shall wait to see the results.

As well as the fitness aspects of our project I have also been busy with building the list of sponsors who have so kindly agreed to support us. Worthy of particular mention at this stage is Mr Jonathan Bell of WL Gore, running wear, who very generously donated significant amounts of training kit for the three of us to use. It was far beyond what we expected and gratefully received.

The other is Ms Carol Roger and Mr Jim Lee of Travel Dundee, who have also donated a significant amount towards our event kit, as well as supporting our Ceilidh.

Most of our efforts are now focused on our Ceilidh in February which is taking a considerable amount of preparation. For this event we have joined forces with a formidable team of event organisers who have been nothing short of unbelievable when it comes to contacts and blagging they are true masters!! Thanks Laura, Claire and Laura, it's been great fun so far.
The level of support shown by all those we have approached to support us has been amazing a big thank you to you all.

Most recently we were invited to charity ball in aid of Maggie's held at the Apex Hotel Dundee and hosted by Mr Eddy Thomson, (Dundee United Chairman). The highlight of the night had to be the look on James face as he was prancing about the dance floor with none other than GMTV's Lorraine Kelly!! We have the photo's I'm sure they'll follow.

As always, the journey only gets better and better.

Cheers

Keith
